Hunting

[Frostclaw]

She trotted out of the camp, then stopped and sniffed the air. She sented some squirrle, mice, and vole. She walked out farther silently and twards the mice. She got into her crouch and paused then quickly jumped and landed on a mouse, she killed it quickly by biting it's neck. She burried it then crouched for her next kill.

Wolfstar stalked through the forest, his pelt hidden among the snow. Though darg gray would seem to stand out, he was hidden because of all of his white features. He seemed as though a very fat squirrel of some sort. He saw movement up ahead, but he couldn't tell if he was seeing things or not. The snow kept shifting; but then the familiar scent washed ove him. Icegaze he thought with a sigh.

He padded up besides her. "Prey is becoming a bit scarce, eh?" he purred quietly, his deep blue eyes sparkling. He had a secret crush on her, he tended to have crushes on his deputies, though he had his mate, Greenlily. He was a bit of a player, and tended to hit on certain she-cats, but he had his way of hiding it.

“Oh… hello Wolfy…” she said getting out of her crouch and turning to him but then she heard the mouse she was currently stalking running away. “Well if you’ll excuse me real quick…” she said then silently ran after the mouse… her steps bearling making a crunch in the snow. Quickly she caught up to the mouse and caught it and killed it. Once she was done she padded back over to Wolfstar, the buried her catch next to her other one. She sat down in front of Wolfstar. “I’ve only caught two mice so far so yeah…” she said her ears were slightly red cause of being around her leader but she hoped he thought that they were red cause of the cold air. “So what’cha you doing out here?” she asked.

Wolfstar smiled when he saw Icegaze's ears redden from embaressment. "Oh, I'm doing nothing. I guess I didn't notice how cold it is out here, I mean, I had a heavy pelt before Leaf-bare and now it's even heavier." he meowed. The chilly wind blew and Wolfstar looked away, through the trees. He finally brought his gaze back to his deputy. "So, how are things going for you? Have you found that special tom yet?"

“Oh… no not yet… no one here seems interested in a blind she-cat…” she said slightly depressed. She shook her fur as a chilly breeze flowed through it, her fur was slightly thicker than normal but it was still pretty thin. She heard a squirrel in the distance but her paws were getting cold but she wouldn’t let Wolfstar know that, she had the feeling that he would make her go back to camp.

Wolfstar's gaze went from soft to serious instantly. "Now, don't you ever ssay that, you hear me? You are'nt different than anyone else an don't let anyone think that. You are special in your own way, and that is how every cat is. Trust me, I am not the only cat in this clan to love you-" Wolfstar spat the words out fiercely, until the words slipped out unintentionally.

She froze and her ears perked up. “W-what? What did you just say?” she asked… bopping that he would repeat himself. Her ears were bright red now and she didn’t really care if he knew that it was cause she was slightly embarrassed or not. She started to smile slightly them it froze. Wait what about his mate? Greenlilly… he can’t actually love us both… so I must have just missed heard him. she thought. Her eyes got slightly watery and she blinked hem quickly to hide it.

Wolfstar looked away from Icegaze for a moment. Had he really said that aloud? He felt himself redden under his pelt. He took a deep breath and looked back at Icegaze. "You heard me," he meowed, his voice tight. "I said I loved you. Not matter if I have a mate or not. She doesn't have to know that I feel for other she-cats now does she? You wont tell her-" he cut off, giving her a shy, devious look. "-will you?" he asked catiously.

“No I won’t tell her… but you shouldn’t have these feelings for me when you have a mate…” she said shifting her front paws nervously. She lowered her head slightly… she didn’t like telling Wolfstar that really but she had to, Greenlilly was her friend and she loved Wolfstar too but he couldn’t know. She sighed and walked over to her buried kill and dug it up then picked it up in her mouth and began to move back to camp. Tears shown in her eyes but she tried to blink them away, this time though she failed.

"But," he started as Icegaze walked away. "Icegaze! It's not just you! We can be together! You deserve a mate. I-Ive been in love like this before. When Batflight was alive, I felt the same way! And other she-cats! I-I'm finding it hard to just love one. But we're all friends, so it can work out, between you and me! We just don't tell Greenlily. Then everyone's happy." Wolfstar pleaded to his deputy.

She put her catches down. “Wolf I love you too… but I can do that to Greenlily, she’s my friend… and she’s your mate.” She said. Her sightless eyes looked at him there were tears glistening in them. “I’m sorry…” she said knowing that she wasn’t breaking only her own heart. She picked up her prey again and ran off to camp. Once she was there she put her kills in the fresh kill pile then dashed into the Warriors Den.

[Ember~Rain]

Emberflash was resting in the Warrior's Den, curled up in a tight ball, since his winter coat hadn't fully developed yet. Coldness burst apon him and he jumped. He looked around wildly, his pelt bristling. He saw Icegaze race to her nest and curl up tightly, quietly snuffling. Emerflash picked his way through his sleeping clanmates and went over to her. He prdded er sofly "Icegaze, is everything alright? What happened?" he meowed, truely concerned.

"Oh... I-it's nothing... just a small personial problem..." she said, wiping her eyes with her paw. She sat up as straight as she could but her head still hung. She turned to Emberflash. "Ok... if I tell you you must peromise to never tell anyone at all..." she said, waiting for his to promise befor anything else. She didn't want him to go tell people about Wolfstar confessing his love to her, or her to him... actually she was confused, she wasn't sure if she really loved him truly or not.

[Ember~Rain]

Emberflash could tell she was was lying. It wasn't small at all. She seemed confused, surprised ad just downright upset. He surprised when she said she would tell him as long as he promised not to tell anyone. "You wont hear a word out of me." he meowed sincerely. He would never betray a friend, let a lone, his deputy. She seemed to really need someone to talk to. She seemed to have a secret lying heavy on her shoulders, weighing her down. "Should we go somewhere, I don't know, quieter?" he meowed.

“Yeah…” she said then padded out of the den and back into the forest… she walked to a clearing she had found once and sat down, her ears were perked up to make sure no one was abound before she told him anything. “Emberflash… I don’t know what I should do… Wolfstar told me that he loves me but he has a mate… he thinks we should be mates also… but Greenlily is my friend and I can’t do that to her… I just don’t know what to do…” she said more tears coming to her eyes.
