She stopped in front of him, which made him almost run into her. “Shadowstalker your no more of a failure than I am…” she said. She wouldn’t tell him this but she thought she was a failure, she could have yelled at her mother to run but she didn’t. She walked over to him and licked his cheek gently. “Anyway… I can help with hunting… my favorite part is the stalking.” She said tying to cheer him up. She turned around and took off again, once again blending in with the shadows and the night. “Fallow me if you can…” she said then took off running. She rain through every shadow there was and when there wasn’t one she just looked like a moving shadow against the white snow. When she finally stopped they were at a clearing she once found that was still full of mice, and prey. So she could teach him properly. “If I can teach you to hunt… I need to be taught to fight better…” she said, slightly winded from running.

"I can do that." Shadowstalker was suddenly beside her, answering her statement. "Fighting is my specialty." He smiled. "It's where I got the second half of my name." He sat back and waited to watch the she-cat at work. While she was stalking up to it, he found himself staring at the moon. Though he knew he should be watching... The way it's light reflected onto this puny world to shine upon it's unworthy onlookers.
Thankfully, he hadn't missed much; she was only finishing her stalk up to it and the tom knew how to do that best thanks to his fighting technique. Just copy her, He told himself, though he knew that doing something such as that was going to be easier said than done. She leaped silently and pinned it down with both of her paws, her jaws sinking into the flesh and holding up the dead piece of prey for the two of them to share. But Shadowstalker wasn't going to just rest easy after not being able to catchy anything for so long.
The black, MoonClan warrior narrowed his crystal gaze for the nearest mouse that was scuffling around in the undergrowth of the territory of pine trees and he slunk to the ground. He crept up carefully, his movements graceful and flawless. He replayed what Shadowstep had just portrayed to him and he simply copied her movement. He wound up his back legs and sprang, his paw just catching the tail of it, keeping it in place. He sighed of relief and quickly sunk his jaws into the mouse. It let out a small, shrill squeak of terror before it hung limp in the mouth of the muscular cat. He set it down next to the other mouse and looked up a this teacher with pride.

She smiled as she watched him, he did it almost perfectly, if only he would have pounced slightly sooner, he would have landed on the mouse’s body breaking its back and making it so it couldn’t have moved. “Very good… you’re a fast learner…” she said smiling. And I get the second half of my name from being able to walk or run so silently that no one realizes I’m there. But cause I can’t fight very well I usually end up losing is I try to fight a cat or fox or something like that. That’s also why I’m so good at hunting.” She said. “Do you think they’ll be too mad if we eat one of these?” she asked looking at the mice before them.

"It'll be okay...I hope." He chucked softly and took a small bite of the mouse. As he gulped it down, the luminance of the moon caught his attention once more. How beautiful it looked up in the sky, hanging there, almost trapped in some sort of way. The moon always reminded him of sadness... Like it was a prisoner up in the large, navy blue to black sky. The stars were it's twinkling tears.
After the tom ate his half of the mouse, he got up to his feet as Shadowstep finished her last bite. Shadowstalker nodded to her and then smirked his usual smirk. "So I'm teaching you how to fight, correct?" When she answered him he backed up a few steps, turning the small clearing into a training arena. "Alright. Your hunting technique can be used a great deal in fighting. What you use on a mouse will probably work on a cat." He explained gently.
Shadowstalker suddenly slipped into the shadows and slunk through then, even the dead leaves and the crisp snow under his paws not making a sound. The trees gave him the most perfect ability to blend in with the blackened night. The black tom suddenly propelled himself in the air and pinned Shadowstep down to the ground. He looked at her with a soft gaze then climbed off, licking his chest fur. "It's a good thing I had my claws unsheathed." He mused sneeringly, trying to get her wiled up. "Now you try it on me." He ordered, sitting down.

She squinted her eyes and glared at Shadowstalker. “Ha-ha,” she said then did exactly as he did, though she controlled her annoyance, so that didn’t give away her presence. She silently stalked him for a bit then suddenly flew out from above him and pinned him down. “It’s a good thing I had my claws sheathed.” She said smiling at him, then got off of him. She licked her paw then dragged it over her head a few times, smirking that she actually pinned someone.
