"No." She said sharply looking him straight in the eye. "You think I'm some useless sort of kitty-pet, I know you do, but to me, looking at you, you're the pathetic useless one. I live here peacefully, surviving on endless amounts of food, never fighting for territory, but you, you live out there. In the cold world, never getting along with anyone. HA! I laugh at you." The kitty-pet sneered. "But, no. I refuse to let you stay in my house. If you want to get back to your precious cold-hearted friends so bad, then do so on your own because I refuse to help you!"

Weepingpaw was hurt more by this than anything the kittypet had said before, he was not only talking about him but his love, his mentor, his dad....his Grand-pa. The young warrior shrank down and ran towards the twolegs he shook and hid behind there legs wailing. "I thought you kittypets were nice! But...YOUR NO BETTER THEN A ROUGE!" He screamed. "You say we have cold hearts but...your the one turning away a kit! I have known cats with hearts twice as large as yours! I would rather be with Ebonyfang then with you...cold hearted monster!" he continued to wail behind the twolegs. He had called himself what he hated most but...he couldn't help but say that his dad would have done the same.

Musicbox couldn't help but chuckle to herself. "I thought warriors were supposed to be brave and strong, but your defenseless, helpless, even. That's why you come to a mere kittypet like me for help. Are you going to tell you're friends about this when go home? No, I don't think so. 'Cause I'm just a weak little kittypet begging all the little twolegs for attention. You aren't going to tell them that you begged me to help you. You're going to play the hero and say you got out of twoleg place all alone. Trust me, I'm not stupid, I know the way you cats act. Always spatting insults are way. But if you looked at it from our perspective, you might see things a little differently."
The soft brown kittypet sighed as she curled up into a ball on the ground. Today was one of those times when the usually friendly kittypet was in a bad mood. If it were any other day, the she-cat would have help the warrior no doubt, but for some reason today she just didn't feel like being nice. This wasn't really the first time that she'd met one of this types of cats before. Maybe that's why she was being so rude to him. The other cat that she had met was just as selfish and stuck up as he was.

Weepingpaw stopped crying. He realized that she was right, if she did help him he probably wouldn't tell people but, he was curios about something. "Wh-why, did I really say that? If not why did you say that to yourself..." he was piecing it together. "I'm not the first forest cat you have met have you? The other one scard you so you have a prejudice against forest cats?" he stepped away from the twoleg and walked towards the she-cat, curiosity shone in his face and his voice. "What happened?" He said his head cocked.

Musicbox's ears twitched, but she continued to lay where she was, unmoving. The younger cat had put her in a bad mood, and obviously didn't understand that she didn't want to talk to him. The brown tabby could smell his forest stench from where he stood, even though he was pretty far from her. Now that she thought about it, he smelled exactly the same as the previous warrior that she had met before. It was that cat who told me about the forest full of wild cats...And even through all of his rudeness, I couldn't help but admire him. It's exactly as before.
A deep sigh engulfed Musicbox as she stood up, her tail twitching. The she-cat gently wrapped her tail around her paws. "Well, the cat that I met, was a warrior just like you. I was just a kit then, no more than four moons in age." The cat's eyes glazed over as she thought back to the time when she was just a tiny kit. Memories floated through her head as she remembered the good and the bad. "He was lost, just as you were. A forest cat lost in two leg place. He treated me like I was pure scum, I nuisance to the world, and even at a young age, I knew that he was wrong. I told him the same words that I told you. The tom decided to stick around, trying to bug me, bother me, but I didn't crack. He finally up and left." Her eyes seemed a bit sad, but she continued to tell the story. "But he came back, unable to escape. And I began to feel sorry for him. I was just a young kit, still confused about the world, then. I didn't know about the bad things that lurked in the forest. Anyways, He always picked on me, telling me how useless kittypets were. I hated him for it, but I enjoyed his company all the same. I'm so alone in this house, by myself." It almost seemed as if the she-cat was crying now. "The cat finally gave in and begged me to take him back. Now that I look back it was so pitiful. A grown cat begging a kit... I finally decided to take him to where he wanted to be. Unsuspecting to either of us, a badger was lurking in the shadows and protecting me, he died." If you looked closely, you could now definitely see the sadness lurking in the depths of her eyes. "I couldn't protect myself, I didn't know how to fight, so I ran. I ran while he laid there dying on the cold ground. If I would have taken him back when he asked, he wouldn't have died. He also wouldn't have died if I hadn't been there... That is why I refuse to leave my yard." Musicbox's eyes cleared and she looked deeply into Weepingpaw's eye. "I'm not going to get myself killed by leaving..."
The she-cat curled back into a ball, facing away from the warrior. If he wanted to get himself killed, that's fine. But she wasn't going to see it happen, not again.

Weepingpaw took a step back, but then walked over to the she-cat and laid down next to her. "M-my father died when I was very young, only 5 moons old, and my grand-pa had died a moon before that, I was then condemned to death, and I was alone in the woods for two moons running for my life, until I was picked up by Sunclan." he then stood up. "Teaching that do not speak of pain mean nothing, because you cannot gain anything without giving something in return." he looked back. "I gave you my name, so can you give me the honor of knowing yours?"

The saddened she-cat closed her eyes tightly hoping to keep all of the light out. Musicbox wanted nothing more than the silence that she longed for. She knew that that wouldn't come anytime soon, though. "Musicbox..." The brown she-cat muttered out. If he wanted to know her name that badly, she might as well tell him. But even though she gave her name, she still refused to leave her house.
The she-cat stood up and pranced slowly over to her fence. Bunching her muscles together she hopped up to the top of the fence, then jumped into the fenced yard. Back here, it was much more comfortable than the front yard. She felt more secure here.

Weepingpaw looked down as the she cat slinked away leaving him alone again, *Musicbox...* he thought to himself, he then realized something, he then sprinted to the back yard and jumped onto the fence, staring at Musicbox, "Musicbox, the world has changed in the past however moons, your to scared to give the amazing a chance. You take the bad with the good," he said smiling hoping Musicbox wouldn't take offense to it. "Besides" he began, "Badgers arnt as strong as they used to be" he said smirking, trying to make a joke.

The she-cat curled her body up beside the rose bush. Musicbox thought about showing the warrior the way to go; she knew she would eventually give in. But what would the young she-cat obtain from showing the outsider the way out?
Musicbox knew deep inside what she really wanted. She, herself, wanted the freedom of living a warrior's life. The she-cat knew she wouldn't be able to do much, she wouldn't be able to fight or catch prey, but she knew she could do other things. Musicbox had heard that there was a cat that healed the wounded, she would be able to help collect herbs. The tabby cat also knew that she could help with the kits in the clan.
Musicbox turned to face Weepingpaw, now knowing what she wanted to do with her life. "If I show you the way back..." The she-cat thought about exactly what she wanted to say. "What do I get in return...?"

Weepingpaw sat down on the fence and thought for a moment and came up with a great solution. "You can live in sunclan," he began. "Away from the confinement of this area, and into the wild, were the only rule is survival." he continued. "But before we do though, I will have to teach you pounce, and how to fight. What I saw back there wasn't very good." Weepingpaw joked, hoping that she would say yes, he wanted to go back and, he kinda liked having her around.

The young she-cat giggled lightly, it was as if the tom was reading her mind. "You're leader wouldn't let me join...you cats despise cats like me." Musicbox gave a soft smile at the end of her words. No matter how much she wanted to join the clan, to be free from this place, she knew it was never going to happen; Musicbox knew that she would probably be confined in these gates for the rest of her life.
The she-cat leisurely walked over to the gate and hopped up, taking a seat next to her new friend. "But thanks anyways for the offer."

Weepingpaw stretched out on the fence. "God your worry to much." he said laughing. "Why does it matter if he doesn't let you in? This adventure could be the greatest thing that has ever happened to you and you just shove it aside because of one problem." he smirked. "Life isnt any fun without any danger, right?" he said hoping to convince the she cat that he was right.

"Life doesn't need danger to be fun." The she-cat mewed. Musicbox knew by now that Weepingpaw must hate her by now, he must want her to just hurry up and show him the way back to the forest; that was probably why he was being so nice to her. Musicbox was tired of being difficult, she was going to take up his offer and accept his training. Gracefully, she stood up with perfect balance. "Show me the moves so we can go back to this clan of yours and get out of kitty-pet territory." Musicbox sighed knowing that this might be her last night at her home.

"Alright!" Weepingpaw yelled, laughter in his voice. He jumped off the fence and landed on the ground. "Well," he began. "I suppose I will teach you basic hunting skills, then we will move onto fighting, then we ca-" he cut himself off, for he encountered a problem. "What about your twolegs? If they see me training you, they might think we are fighting, break us up and take me away." He said looking back up at Musicbox cocking his head.

Thoughts were pulsing through Musicbox's head; excitement, happiness, freedom, maybe a little fear was tucked back in the corner? The young she-cat was ready for this, but nerves were pulling apart her insides.
The tabby turned her head to face the younger tom. "They won't check back here, trust me, they never do." A slight smiled curled upon her lips. "Now what would you like me to do?" She knew that no matter how much training was done and how hard they both tried, the she-cat knew she would never be a real warrior. She would never have half the courageousness of a real warrior. But she still was going to give it her all and she hoped Weepingpaw did, too.
