Gladetail pads along the river hoping that the steady noise of the river would calm her excitement yet nervousness on what Emberflash would think about the news she had to tell him. She sat near the river prodding her paw against the reflection waiting for him to arrive.

Emberflash had his mouth stuffed with fur. All he could find on his hunting trip was a stringy old squirrel. He was going to the river to check for a water vole or two. As the river entered his sight, he spotted his mate, Gladetail, sitting by the river. He quickly buried hsi catch and raced over to her.He rubbed his cheek on hers. "Hello my love," he meowed, eyes shining.

Affection filling in her gaze she pressed her cheek against her mate and let out a light purr. "I have something important to tell you!" Her eyes glistened with happiness picturing her and her mate being able to share something as special as this.

Emberflash looked athis mate with loving eyes. "Important? What could be more important than the moments we share together? It's good news, right? 'Coz I'm in a good mood right now!" Emberflash joked, smiling.

Gladetail smiled and nudged him playfully purring softly then she fixed her gaze on her mate. "What I wanted to tell you..." Her paws tingling in excitement but she slowly tries to calm herself to break the good news. Focusing on her mate looking deep into his eyes she attempted to whisper the words. "I'm having kits!"

Emberflash's heart skipped a beat. Hi eyes grew wide, making it as though they could strech forever. "Oh, wow! That's great! Kits, oh they'll be so beautiful and strong," he meowed breathlessly. He licked Gladetail on the forehead. "You'll be a great mother," he purre, happiness sure to engulf him.

Gladetail pressed closer against him purring deeply. "They'll get their strength from you, who will also be a great father as well!" She let there tails intertwined as her eyes glistened against the misty air. "I'm so excited! I wonder how many kits there will be!"

Emberflash purred and shook his head. "They may have my strength, but there's no doubt in my mind that they'll be as beautiful and as talented as you! They'll be te best hunters in all of SunClan," he meowed, nudging his mate lightly. They were so close right now, so close to making everything peaceful. Maybe more than one couple would figure things out... Mayube there would be peace between the clans...
