Glassheart glared at the SunClan leader, having hoped that the attack--though not as malicious as it should have been--would have done some more damage. I need to take away one of his lives, she thought. Hopefully he's close to losing one. I don't like that both sides are too evenly matched...usually that results in some heavy casualties. With this in mind the dark warrior looked at a cat similar to her--Shadowstalker, who possessed nearly the same ice-blue eyes and black pelt that she did. Both were also chased by insanity; a looming darkness always at the edge of their minds.
The MoonClan cat smiled a bit when she thought of the other warrior--the one who she regrettably told to go fight another cat. Her blue gaze scanned the clearing in search of the other, not noticing how the SunClan leader was using her temporary let-down guard to his advantage; sneaking up on her until by the time she noticed it was too late. He'd lunged, smashing into her and sending her falling to the ground, claws deeply raking into her right shoulder and causing much blood to be shed from the she-cat and a hiss of pain to escape her mouth.
Glassheart tried to stand up, but once she put weight on her hurt shoulder she fell back down to the ground; this repeated itself a few times until she finally managed to get on her paws, glaring angrily at the SunClan leader and letting out a shaky breath, slightly wobbly but standing all the same. Not good, not good. I shouldn't let myself be distracted! she scolded herself, trying her best to numb the pain with her mind. [/blockquote]

Shadowstalker was knocked back a few paces by the other cat -- he couldn't fight anymore. He simply could do it. His crystal gaze kept averting over to his beloved Glassheart, just making sure that she was okay. He desperately wanted to go help her, his heart and mind were telling him to fight with her, but...
She had told him to go.
He would listen to her; Glassheart overcame his own wants to protect. While being sidetracked he was given a large blow to the shoulder, taking the breath out of him. Starlingsong was a worthy opponent when Shadowstalker was spaced out. He was about to fight back when the black tom heard something. His blue eyes widened and his breathing stopped. A hiss of pain and agony emitted from the black she-cat across the battle area. Not really caring if he were to be attacked again, he whipped his head around to see that she was attempted to get back to her feet, blood gushing out of her.
Shadowstalker had never seen her this way. She was always so powerful, so mighty, so... brilliant. But, now she looked close to her deathbed, dull, lost of her vibrancy. The MoonClan warrior saw that the cat was running for him once again, trying to take advantage of his foe being off guard, but at this moment, he could care less. Wolfstar had run for Glassheart again, knocking her over, claws to her neck. Glassheart looked like she never had before.
Like she had simply just given up on this battle and was embracing death. Shadowstalker let out a loud cry, darting out of reach from his opponent, Starlingsong, then darting across the area, seeing the wicked glare in Wolfstar's eyes. The glare that he normally felt within himself -- the feeling of about to take a life. Shadowstalker shook his head, wishing his legs would move faster. The claws got closer and closer to her skin, the blue eyes that his beautiful she-cat owned closing, a small smile on her face: a smile of defeat.
"No!" Shadowstalker cried, the loud, booming echo of his voice reining throughout the clearing. The large tom rammed into the cat that lead their rival Clan, knocking him away from Glassheart.
This was his battle, now. He wasn't going to stand by and watch the she-cat he loved be torn away from his grasp. It was something he couldn't bear. Cold fire burned in the depths of his gaze, his claws unsheathed; he stood straight up in front of the she-cat on the ground, staring directly into Wolfstar's eyes. The feeling of love overwhelmed the tom, ridding him of his insanity, if only for a little while. He looked tall, defiant, hero-like. And even if he did die tonight -- it was for a worthy cause. Glassheart had pretty much given up the fight; her spirit had been long gone and the pain was becoming unbearable. She didn't put up much of a defense when the other Clan's leader ran at her, smashing into the MoonClan cat yet again and causing her to fall to the ground. The she-cat smiled softly when she felt the claws at her neck, prepared to take away her life. It's over. I lost, the warrior thought, full of defeat. She hated losing, yes; but had the warrior ever truly won? Even though Glassheart still wanted to fight and prove herself she gave up; waiting for the painful slash that would end her.
It never came.
Instead a cry of 'no!' assaulted her ear-drums, and the MoonClan cat looked up to see Shadowstalker ram into Wolfstar, knocking the latter of the two away from the fallen warrior and then take a defensive stance in front of her. "...Shadowstalker?" she asked, warily. Why is he doing this? Doesn't he know he might be hurt--even killed? "No, don't!" Glassheart's face was filled with worry, and with protest from her deep wound she managed to stagger to her feet, ice-blue eyes meeting their twins as she caught his attention. "Please...don't. What happens if you get hurt--or die? I'd never be able to live with that!"
The female couldn't believe she was saying something like that; and if the situation weren't so dire she'd most certainly be blushing right now. But she couldn't; not when Shadowstalker was about to risk his life for her. She couldn't just do nothing. "Please, please don't!" the wounded warrior pleaded, all signs of her previous calm gone. I can't lose him. [/blockquote]

Wolfstar was about to claw and completely immobilize the she-cat when a black tom rammed into his side. His breath was knocked out of him and he skidded back a few tail-lengths. The two black cats looked almost identical. A tom stood in front of the one he had been fighting, shielding her. The gray tuxedo cat bared his teeth in a snarl. "Amazing. For once MoonClan cats actually care about others besides themselves. Truely amazing."
He lashed his tail, wondering if it was an act. He shrugged the thought away and reared up on his hind legs like a cat from LionClan. He landed hard on the tom's shoulders, raking his claws down the tom's forelegs. He then spun around and ended up behind the two cats. "I find it amazing that you are helping defend your clanmate. How noble of you," he sneered.

Starlingsong padded up slowly behind Wolfstar, ready to fight again if he was needed. "I think this is your chance to leave our territory." He hissed keeping his eyes on Glassheart. She didn't look like she was gonna more anytime soon but he was ready in case she was gonna do something.
